Matt Collins is a technology executive with four decades of experience spanning enterprise leadership, global go-to-market, cloud transformation, and AI/ML strategy. He has held senior leadership roles at four Fortune 100 companies — AWS, Microsoft, GE Capital, and American Express — and founded two businesses from the ground up.
Today, through Savannah Gray, LLC, Matt serves as a board member, executive advisor, and investor to a select number of high-growth and founder-led companies navigating AI transformation, digital strategy, and scaling operations. The firm is named for his children, Savannah and Grayson.
Career Highlights
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — 13 years spanning multiple Global Senior Director roles. Most recently served as Senior Director of Agentic AI Transformation, leading AWS's Global Services evolution into an agent-first enterprise through a CEO-sponsored cross-organizational initiative integrating agentic AI across Sales, Marketing, Partner, Professional Services, Support, and Training & Certification functions. Architected and scaled the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) from inception into a global powerhouse, driving over $10B in incremental ARR each year by 2022. Led a global team of 2,000+ specialists and established the industry standard for the AWS Partner Migration Competency. As an inaugural member of AWS Professional Services, pioneered the 'Customer Cloud Journey' methodology and led landmark migrations for 1,000s of clients including Capital One, NASDAQ, Conde Nast, and Johnson & Johnson.
Microsoft — 15 years in progressively senior roles. As General Manager of Microsoft IT, directed a $220M annual software development portfolio for Sales, Marketing, and Services business systems. Architected the 'Business Value Realization' framework adopted across all of Microsoft IT. As General Manager of US Services, scaled Premier Support revenue from $150M to $500M and grew Enterprise Services profits from $77M to $253M while leading a team of 2,000+ employees.
GE Capital — 3 years as Director of Technology Services for a $45B financial services leader. Led M&A technology integration and company consolidation efforts, managing national infrastructure supporting 5,000+ users across 8 major sites. Drove high-velocity transformations including migrating 1,000 of users to new distributed computing platforms in weeks through automation and standardization of architectures and practices. Architected enterprise frameworks adopted as blueprints for GE-wide global deployment and pioneered network modernization delivering $500K in annual cost savings.
American Express — 9 years as Director of Technology Services & Senior Advisor. Architected the enterprise three-year systems roadmap and led modernization of distributed computing environments. Spearheaded high-velocity migrations and partnered with Gartner and Ernst & Young on global benchmarking and business re-engineering studies. Established distributed computing and modernization of mainframe systems to enable speed and efficiency across sales, brokerage, claims, actuarial, and underwriting services.
Entrepreneurship — Founded M&M Associates, scaling it into a North Bay technology powerhouse serving healthcare and SMB sectors. Operated as a Partner in the start-up of Biotherm Engineering, where doubled delivery speed and scaled the business to $1.65M in annual revenue developing early PC based software for design, distribution, and accounting functions.
